Man arrested after driving into snowbank

On Feb. 22, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a vehicle parked, with its driver slumped over the steering wheel, alongside Highway 60 near Old Highway 60 in the township of Bridgeport. 

Moments later, the reporting party stated the suspect vehicle began driving again and they saw the vehicle proceed through the intersection of Highway 18 and Upper Bridgeport Road. The suspect vehicle drove through the intersection, through a road sign and several yards into a large snow bank. The vehicle came to rest buried in the snowbank with heavy front-end damage. 

Prairie du Chien police officers and first responders arrived on scene and identified the driver as Kevin Warrington, 32, Prairie du Chien. The Crawford County K-9 Unit arrived and observed severe signs of impairment. Warrington was transported to Crossing Rivers Health where field sobriety testing was conducted. He was arrested for operating while under the influence of an intoxicant (first offense). 

Assisting the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department were the Prairie du Chien Police Department, Bridgeport Fire Department, Tri-State EMS, Milo’s Towing and Crossing Rivers Health.
