Is cabin fever starting to close in around you? Are you tired of watching the same television programs? Get on your dancing shoes  because Guttenberg's local Umbrella Arts group has organized the perfect event to chase away your mid-winter blues.

The Sinatra Experience will be presented on Saturday, March 23, from 7-8:30 p.m. at PromiseLand Winery, located at 39053 Great River Road in Guttenberg.  A limited number of advance tickets are available at a cost of $15 per person.

Francis Albert "Frank" Sinatra was born on Dec. 12, 1915, in Hoboken, N.J. He was the only child of Sicilian immigrants. Sinatra's inspiration to become a singer and performer came in his teenage years after watching Bing Crosby perform in the 1930s. He rose to fame singing big band numbers in the 40s and 50s and had a dazzling array of hit songs and albums.  The hypnotic quality of his voice and the remarkable effect upon susceptible young women referred to as "Bobby Soxers" added to his allure. He went on to appear in dozens of films and won a supporting actor Oscar for the film From Here to Eternity. He left behind a massive catalog of work that includes many iconic tunes.

The Sinatara Experience  musical event features "Chicago's Sinatra" Steve Jacobs (aka Stevie Swing) and his tribute to the music of "Ol' Blue Eyes."

Jacobs is a recreator of "The Chairman's"  famous sound and not a look-a-like Frank Sinatra impersonator. The artist, accompanied by his keyboardist, creates an unforgettable musical experience. Jacobs has a formidable "Rat Pack," swing, retro, and pop repertoire, with his own warm and inviting musical style.

The  popular and in-demand Chicago "Rat Pack" singer will bring a  fun, authentic and exciting tribute of favorite Sinatra songs that will leave you tapping your toes, singing out loud and kicking up your heels on the dance floor.

Jacob's rich baritone voice, dynamic phrasing and  sultry, swinging presence will have you wanting for more. His show includes timeless gems such as: Lady Is A Tramp, Under My Skin, My Way, Luck Be A Lady, Come Fly With Me, Fly Me To The Moon and more from the fabulous 50's Capitol years, swingin' 60's "Rat Pack" years and 70s-80s concert years.

Jacobs' performance experience includes concerts, galas, weddings and corporate shows throughout the Chicago area.

Valentine gift idea

Tickets to this swinging musical event make the perfect Valentine gift. Event organizer Lori Wallace commented, "It's like celebrating Valentine's Day twice. Give the tickets on Valentines day and Attend the event a month later."

Round out the evening by stopping at participating local restaurants for a Sinatra-inspired meal. Bootleggers and Lakeside will be preparing inventive menus to take you back in time to the era of swing. Check out participating restaurants on Facebook for a full menu.

Tickets can be purchased from Umbrella Arts members or by calling Sherry Oliver at (563) 252-3462, the Chamber of Commerce at (563)-252-2323, or  Juanita Loven at  (563) 880-7662.
