On Saturday, Jan. 25, the River Ridge Dance Team attended the Southern Regional Dance competition held by WACPC in Watertown, Wis. 

The past week was hard to get practice in with the weather and having to cancel practices, and with games being postponed. The team was able to practice a couple times during the week and picked up an extra performance during an eighth-grade basketball game so that they could get one more performance in before competing.

Despite the weather setbacks, the team placed third at the regional and advanced to the state competition which will be held Saturday, Feb. 2 at the La Crosse Civic Center. This is the second year in a row that the team has advanced to state.

“The team would like to thank everyone who made it to Watertown to cheer them on, along with everyone who wished them luck,” said Coach Kristin Collins. “The team would love to see their fans cheer them on this Saturday!” 

The performance time will be posted this week on the team’s Facebook page.
