Stacy J. Polodna, 50, of Bagley passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at his home, following an extended illness. 

He was born Dec. 18, 1968, the son of Peter and Janet (Cherrier) Polodna. 

He graduated from Prairie du Chien High School and attended Western Wisconsin Technical College in La Crosse for police science. He married Cari Golisch on Sept. 16, 2000, in Rock Springs. Stacy began his career working for the Prairie du Chien Police Department as a part-time officer. He was later employed in Grant County and for the Reedsburg Police Department. He ended his career as a detective for the Prairie du Chien Police Department, protecting and serving the community of Prairie du Chien. Stacy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, coaching his daughter’s softball team, camping, boating and riding his UTV. He was a great cook and loved to grill for his family and friends. Stacy was very caring to others, and his heart was wide open when helping friends and strangers alike. 

He is survived by his wife Cari and their children, Abigail, Alivia and Peter Polodna; his father Peter Polodna, of Madison; his brothers, Mark Polodna, of Onalaska, and William Klinkenberg, of Brice Prairie; his sister, Jamie Klinkenberg, of Boscobel; along with many relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents, Ila and Bob Cherrier, and Vi and Vince Polodna.

Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at the Prairie du Chien High School Performing Arts Center in Prairie du Chien with Pastor Andy Doll officiating, and burial at the Bridgeport Cemetery in Bridgeport. 

Honors will be accorded by the Prairie du Chien Police Honor Guard. Friends may call on Thursday, Dec. 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, and at the high school from 10 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
