On Friday night, the Prairie du Chien Blackhawks played in front of an inspired student section and home crowd as the Hawks opened up SWC play.  

The Hawks showed tremendous ball movement on the offensive end by making the extra pass which led them to shoot 56 percent from the floor for the game.  

The Hawks jumped out to a 41-21 lead at halftime and stretched the lead in the second half as Jack Amundson and Kouki Ishida hit 3 pointers in the second half for the Hawks.

Nine players reached the scoring column for the Hawks as they were led by Gavin Gillitzer with 18 points and Hunter Davis with 17 points and 8 rebounds, respectively.  Ryan Thein chipped in 9 points (two 3 pointers), Josh Dyer had  8 points and Mason Kramer had 7 points and 8 assists as he showed a tremendous floor game. 

The Hawks were 8-14 from the 3-point line with Mark Welter, Gavin Gillitzer and Ryan Thein each hitting two 3 pointers.

Next up for the Hawks will be an early SWC showdown versus the #9-ranked Platteville Hillmen at Platteville on Thursday, Dec. 13.
