Costume contest planned for Ghouls and Goblins Night Out
By Shelia Tomkins
Guttenberg merchants are getting into the Halloween spirit once again with Ghouls and Goblins Night Out. The eighth annual event, scheduled for 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, gives adults the opportunity to celebrate Halloween and support Guttenberg businesses. This year's event features a new twist — a costume contest with prizes.
"Gather your friends and head downtown for a hauntingly good time featuring sales, food and drink specials, samples, giveaways and more!" invites Mandy Ludovissy, GCC director.
Guttenberg Chamber member businesses who are open during Ghouls and Goblins Night Out will each vote for their favorite costumes seen during the event.
•The individual costume receiving the most votes will win $20 in Guttenberg Bucks.
•The group (two or more people) with the most votes will win $60 Guttenberg Bucks. A group costume can be different parts of a "cast" (such as the Wizard, Tin Man, and Scarecrow) or can be individuals all dressed the same (such as three witches).
Voting will take place on Friday, Oct. 19, and winners will be announced that afternoon on www.guttenbergiowa.net and the Guttenberg Chamber Facebook page.
