On Aug. 11, at 9:07 p.m., the Crawford County Communications Center received a report of a one-vehicle rollover on Plum Creek Road, approximately 1.5 miles east of Mill Road, in the township of Eastman.

Cody H. Crusan, 17, Lynxville, was operating a 2005 Dodge Durango sport utility vehicle eastbound on Plum Creek Road when he came upon a curve where a section of the roadway surface transitioned from blacktop to gravel. While attempting to negotiate the gravel curve, Crusan overcorrected the steering, which caused the vehicle to slide sideways then into the embankment where the vehicle overturned on its top. Crusan and his passengers, Nicholas F. Poots, 18, Prairie du Chien, and Sierra R. Hering, 16, Lynxville, were able to exit the vehicle and wait for the arrival of emergency services.

There were minor injuries sustained in the crash. The vehicle sustained severe damage. Crusan was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.

Assisting at the scene were Tri-State Regional EMS, the Eastman Fire Department, Eastman First Responders and Bob’s Towing.
