Harold Siegele, 80, of Prairie du Chien, died Thursday, Aug. 2, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien.

Harold was born on Aug. 25, 1937, in McGregor, Iowa, the son of Harry and Anna Marie (Carlson) Siegele. He graduated from McGregor High School in 1955. Harold joined and proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Harold was united in marriage with Janet Tippery. Two children were born to this union. The couple later divorced. He was then united in marriage with Diane Heuser-Selvester. Harold worked as a butcher at Piggly Wiggly and also at 3M for twenty plus years before retiring. 

Harold is survived by his wife, Diane Siegele, of Prairie du Chien; children, Debbie (Dennis) Gates, of Eastman, and David (Brenda) Siegele, of Patch Grove; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bob Siegele of Garnavillo, Iowa, and Raymond (Joyce) Siegele, of Marquette, Iowa. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Anna Marie Siegele.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 11, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Prairie du Chien. There will also be a one-hour visitation before services at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be at a later date. Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, of Prairie du Chien, is helping the family with arrangements.
