They attended the Luana Methodist Church until it closed. They then joined the Garden City United Methodist Church now known as the Living Faith United Methodist Parish in Monona, where Noraline was a member of the United Methodist Women. They retired from farming and moved to their house in Monona in 2001.

Lloyd and Noraline were both members of the Merry Mixers Square Dance Club and Round Dance Club. They also enjoyed their various card clubs. Noraline was a member of the Garden City Garden Club in Monona for several years, participating in their annual flower shows and also taking flower arrangements to the Allamakee County Fair. She received numerous awards for her arrangements. Noraline was also a member of the Franklin Homemakers Club, gathering monthly in one of the members’ homes. After Lloyd’s death in December 2006, Noraline continued living in their house in Monona until moving to Garden View Senior Living in May 2016.
