Charlotte E. Kluesner, 91, of Bloomington, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, at Prairie Maison Nursing Home, Prairie du Chien. 

She was born on Oct. 31, 1926, the daughter of Edward and Magdeline “Lena” (Maiers) Hermsen. Charlotte graduated from Bloomington High School. On Nov. 27, 1947, she was united in marriage to James R. Kluesner, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Bloomington. After their marriage, the couple farmed together in Glen Haven and Bloomington Township. 

Charlotte was the Avon lady for many years. She also worked at Bloomington School District and River Ridge as a Teacher’s Aide. Charlotte was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and its CCW. She enjoyed playing cards,  Bingo, her flower gardens, watching birds, scratch tickets, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. 

She is survived by her children Jim (Jeannie) Kluesner, Jr., Karen (Joe) Gates, Tom (Marlene) Kluesner, Pat (Cal) Kohlenberg, Sally (Tom) Bennett, Linda (Rod) Kaufman, Mary (Rod) Neis; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Dorothy Taylor and Jeri Kluesner; brothers-in-law Ralph (Arlene), Kenny and Clarence Kluesner; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ed and Lena Hermsen and her in-laws Lawrence and Alvina Kluesner, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Kluesner; her siblings Marie (Eugene “Gene”) Leamy, Lucille Hermsen, Delores (John) Willoughby, Alfred (Betty) Hermsen, Edward Hermsen, Jr., Roy (Mary Jane) Hermsen and Alberta Hermsen; and in-laws Bob (Judy) Kluesner, Allan Taylor, Jack, Joyce, Joan and Earl Kluesner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 3, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Bloomington at 11:30 a.m., with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bloomington. Family and friends may call on Tuesday July 3, from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church, where an 8:45 a.m. rosary will be prayed.
