Valedictorian Drew Zimmerman and Salutatorian Trent McCullick

Drew Zimmerman has been named the valedictorian and Trent McCullick the salutatorian of the Wauzeka-Steuben High School 2018 graduating class.

Drew is the son of Dean and Kim Zimmerman. He has been very active throughout his high school career while excelling academically. Drew has earned distinguished/high honors all four years, achieving an academic letter and four pins for his excellence in the classroom. He has been recognized as student of the month by the Wauzeka-Steuben faculty and staff. Furthermore, he has been involved in a number of extra-curricular activities over the past four years. 

Drew has participated in cross country, basketball, and track throughout his four years of high school and has earned multiple varsity letters in each. He has been recognized with numerous accolades in each for his athletic talents and leadership abilities, including all-conference, most valuable player and captain designations. 

Drew’s contributions to clubs and organizations have included Hornet Council, Math Team, Spanish Club and the National Honor Society, in which he is currently serving as treasurer. He has served as a class officer all four years and as a PALS mentor for younger students in the district. Likewise, Drew has volunteered his time to assist local law enforcement by participating in the Teen Court program. 

By giving back to his community through volunteerism, he is a 2018 Silver Cord recipient, having completed 150 hours of service while in high school. Drew is an active member of the Wauzeka St. Paul Lutheran Youth Group. As a member, he participated in a mission trip to Detroit, completing a service project. 

Drew plans to attend UW-Madison next fall to major in computer science. He’s most appreciative for his parents and the rest of his family for being his motivation and to his teachers for encouraging him to always do his best.

Trent is the son of Marcus and Michelle McCullick. He has also been actively involved throughout his high school career while excelling academically. He has achieved academic high honors all four years, earning himself an academic letter and four pins for his excellence in the classroom. Trent has participated in cross country and track throughout high school, where he provides leadership and encouragement to his teammates on a daily basis. He has served as a teacher’s aide and as a PALS mentor for his younger district counterparts. 

Trent was selected prom king by fellow classmates his junior year. Outside of school, he has been employed as a waiter at Jo’s Kountry Bar. 

Trent plans to attend UW-Stevens Point next fall to major in Spanish education. He also expressed his gratefulness to his parents and teachers for assisting him this far and to his family and friends for always supporting him.
