Kage Louis Wachter, 4, of Woodman, passed away from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident on Friday, May 4.

He was born July 30, 2013 in Prairie du Chien, the son of Jason and Jaynel (Light) Wachter. Kage’s love for farming was as strong as his parent’s and the generations before them. Kage was so full of life and lived every minute to its fullest, bringing smiles to everyone’s face.

He enjoyed time spent with his large family and being outdoors. Every season of the year, you could find Kage outdoors looking for mushrooms, deer or a down fence. He cherished his sibling rivalries because it allowed him to show his spirited personality.

He is survived by his parents, Jason and Jaynel, of Woodman; his brother, Colton Wall, of Prairie du Chien; his sisters, MaKena Rethwisch and Justice Wachter, both of Woodman; his grandparents, John and Sally Light, of Eastman, Cliff and Trudy Wachter, of Woodman; in addition to his great grandparents, Roger and Lois Amundson, of Clermont, Iowa, Louis Wachter, of Woodman, and Keith Harville, of Prairie du Chien; along with many aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10, from 4 to 6 p.m., with a memorial service following. Services will be held at the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Lance Wetter officiating. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
