Teen arrested after vehicle rolls on Bypass
On Tuesday, April 17, at 3:30 p.m., the Prairie du Chien Police Department received a call of a vehicle driving erratically on South Beaumont Road. The caller then told dispatch that the vehicle had hit a curb and rolled over several times on the Highway 18 Bypass near South Wacouta Avenue. The vehicle came to rest on its tires and the driver proceeded to drive in a field until the vehicle struck a power utility box, where it was disabled.
During the course of the crash investigation, it was determined that Dylan Yeomans, 19, Prairie du Chien, was the operator and lone occupant of the vehicle. Yeomans was taken to the Crossing Rivers Health emergency room for possible injuries.
The vehicle suffered severe damage. Yeomans was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant (first offense) and reckless driving.
The Prairie du Chien Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department, Bridgeport Fire Department, Bridgeport First Responders, Mar-Mac EMS and Milo’s Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
