Todd P. Krachey, 52, of Wauzeka, passed away on Saturday, March 31, at Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 15, 1965 in Prairie du Chien. The son of Paul and Judy (Atkinson) Krachey. He married Crystal Reiger, the love of his life, on Nov. 1, 1997, in Boscobel.

Todd has owned Krachey’s BP in Boscobel since 2004, with his wife Crystal. They often employed high school students as their first job to let them gain experience in the workforce. Todd was an active member of both Wauzeka and Boscobel communities. Todd was a member of the Wauzeka School Board. Todd was involved with the Wauzeka Summer Rec. program as a coach and a leader of the organization. You could often find Todd in the gyms or on the football and baseball fields in Wauzeka officiating, running the clocks, or coaching.

Todd also helped with implementing and advancing many programs in the community. He was the fire chief for 18 years in Wauzeka, received Fire Fighter of The Year in 2015, and was president of the Crawford County Fire Fighters Association. In Boscobel Todd was supportive to the youth in the community. Todd was also on the Chamber of Commerce where he served as president. Todd often attended and donated to many fundraisers in the area, no matter the cause.

Todd loved to attend Brewers, Badgers and Packer games with family, if he wasn’t watching them already. Aside from Todd watching sports, he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball for countless years with many different teams. His family was very important to him which he cherished until the very end. One of his biggest joys was sharing his love of sports with his sons, which he was able to do while coaching them in their youth.
