Adella C. Hoeger died on February 23, 2018, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital, Guttenberg, following a brief illness.

Wake service was held on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Garnavillo. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, February 27, at 11 a.m. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Garnavillo.

Pallbearers were Drew Hoeger, Al Hoeger, Brett Johnson, Eric Chaapel, Eric Kraciun, and Wayne Zuercher. Mass Servers were Jody Hawkins and Jeff Hoeger. Lector was Susie Kraciun. Jackie Hawkins-Keck played piano. Karen Zuercher, Pam Grover, and Mary Kay Kirgis carried gifts.

Adella Catherine Hoeger was born February 4, 1922 at rural Luxemburg, the daughter of Joseph and Irene (Menke) Hermsen. She married Albert Hoeger on April 29, 1943 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg. They farmed in the Garnavillo area until retirement. Albert passed away on November 12, 1985. Adella lived at The Towers Living Center in Garnavillo for the past two years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, served in several offices of St. Joseph parish over the years, and enjoyed her card playing friends. Adella loved her family and enjoyed a good shopping trip.

Adella is survived by her son, Roland (Rosie) Hoeger of St Olaf, three daughters, Annette (Don) Chaapel of Delhi, JoAnn (Jim) Hawkins of Dyersville, and Carole Beebe of Cedar Rapids; ten grandchildren, Jim (Mary) Hoeger of Cedar Rapids, Al (Sara) Hoeger of Cedar Rapids, Karen (Wayne) Zuercher of Guttenberg, Mary Kay Kirgis of Cedar Rapids, Jeff (Nikole) Hoeger of Garnavillo, Susie (Eric) Kraciun of Walford, Jody (Wendy) Hawkins of Garnavillo, Jackie (Jamie) Hawkins-Keck of Manchester, Pam (Tony) Grover of Iowa City, Brett Johnson of Mt. Pleasant, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son-in-law, Lyman Beebe.
