Victoria A. Lochner, 83, of Waukegan, Ill., and formerly of Prairie du Chien, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, at the Condell Hospital in Libertyville, Ill.

Vicki was a Christmas baby, born on Dec. 25, 1934, the daughter of William and Vivian (Ruth) Pribyl. Vicki graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1953, and worked for Prairie City Bank until marrying Raymond Lochner in 1955, and moving to Lake Geneva. Through many relocations, she made friends and kept the home fires burning. She was never at a loss for an encouraging or kind word, and putting others first was just her way. Vicki loved to dance and missed that she didn’t get a chance to dance more over the years.

As life slowed down, her fondest times were spent fishing off Louie’s dock with Raymond, catching the occasional sunny, and making him do all the “hard” work when it came to the hook. She was particularly enamored of her dog, Snooper, her constant companion for 14 years. And she always loved to hear the chatter of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her brother Phil Pribyl (June);  sons John (Dana) and Daniel (Lynda) Lochner; daughters Laura (Scott) Jensen and Patty (Jerry) Hanner; grandchildren Emily Lochner Diggs, Lydia Lochner Eikevik, Sam Lochner, Maggie Lochner, Scott Jensen, Matt Jensen, Jennifer Hanner Shonce, Alicia Hanner Reese, Katharine Hanner and Olivia Hanner; and her great granddaughter, Adalynn Jensen. Vicki was blessed with nieces and nephews. Phil and June Pribyl were kind enough to blend Mike, Charlaine, Cathy, Chris, Kevin, Kim, Kerry, Lori, Lisa and Ed together as a family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Raymond Lochner; and parents Bill and Vivian Pribyl.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m., at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. James Weighner officiating, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien.  Friends may call at the church on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests that you pay it forward in some way. Practice random and frequent acts of kindness. And always remember that even though a candle burns out, the light remains in our memory forever. Peace.
