Glenda M. Reinert, 75, of Sherrill, passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at Stonehill Care Center. 

Visitation was Wednesday, Jan. 24, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Sherrill and before services also at the church on Thursday.

Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 25, at the church, conducted by Rev. Noah Diehm.

Burial was in Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.

Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, Dubuque was in charge of arrangements. 

Glenda was born July 12, 1942, the daughter of Glenn and Gladys (Adrian) Orcutt. She graduated from Guttenberg High School and went on to graduate from Dubuque Beauty School. Glenda owned and operated Orcutt’s Beauty Shop, and became the wife of Raphael Reinert on Sept. 1, 1962. They became parents of Lisa, Chris, Renae, and Juanita, making the family complete. In March of 1964, they moved onto the family farm.

While the family was growing up, Glenda taught religion class (second grade) for 15 years, and was a leader for the Peru Achievers 4-H Club for 14 years. After moving from the farm, she worked at Bethany Home in Dubuque, retiring at age 70. 

Glenda’s family always meant so much, and she made sure to remember everyone with birthday cards and gifts. She loved to sew, embroider, cook, and write out Christmas cards and letters. Her family and friends were her support in fighting breast cancer and bone cancer. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Raphael; four children, Lisa (Steve) Klein of Dubuque, Chris (Tina) Reinert of Dubuque, Renae (Dennis) Schueller of Durango, and Juanita (Kevin) Soppe of Sherrill; eight granddaughters, Shelly, Nicole (Justin), Hannah, Ashley, Rachael, Shannon, Hailey, and Emily; four grandsons, Dan, Kyle (Stephanie), Matt, and Brett; one great-grandson, Parker; her sister, Karen (Gerald) Kennicker of Millville; her siblings-in-law, Charles (Delores) and Frank (Bev) Reinert, both of Dubuque, Peter (Betty) Reinert of Hazel Green, Wis., Bernard (Lori) Reinert of St. Louis, Mo., Catherine Orman of San Rafael, Calif., and Molly (Mike) Murray of Olney, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings-in-law, John (Margie), Tony (Pauley), and Joe (Karel) Reinert, Mary (Paul) Noesen, Lucy (Ken) Donovan, and Sr. Paul Clara and Herman Reinert. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glenda M. Reinert Memorial Fund. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Schultheis and his nurse, Jenny; Dr. Whalen; Dr. Kukla; and Stonehill Care Center for their care, kindness, and support shown to Glenda and her family.
