An SUV and plow truck collided in rural Glen Haven Christmas Eve, the Grant County Sheriff’s Department said.

At about 9 a.m., the two-vehicle crash was reported to have happened at County V on Highway 133, in North Andover.

The investigating deputy learned that Roger Schauff, 59, of Cassville, was operating a 2014 Freightliner clearing the intersection on Highway 133. He had just plowed back the shoulder for southbound Highway 133 and was backing up, facing north in the southbound lane. At the same time, Kristin Mumm, 62, of Cassville, was driving her 2015 Ford Escape north on the highway at County V. She noticed that the truck had stopped and was backing. She started to back up herself, but she was unable to do so fast enough, according to the sheriff’s department. The wing blade and assembly on the truck struck the driver’s side front end of Mumm’s vehicle, and the highest point of the bottom of the wing blade entered the windshield of Mumm’s vehicle at the driver’s side. This caused severe damage to her vehicle. The deputy was not able to find noticeable damage to the county plow truck.

Neither Mumm nor Schauff were injured in the crash although Mumm was shaken up significantly. B&M Towing, of Bloomington, removed the Mumm vehicle from where she had parked it.
