Ferryville man charged with meth possession

A 46-year-old Ferryville man has been charged in Crawford County Circuit Court with one count of possession of methamphetamine.

William Zehner II faces up to 3.5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.

According to the criminal complaint, a Sheriff’s Department deputy was dispatched to a residence in the town of Freeman and that a man there had an active warrant from Grant County.

The deputy found Zehner II sleeping in an upstairs bedroom and it took him several minutes to wake Zehner II up, the complaint said. 

The warrant was confirmed and the deputy searched Zehner II and found a small plastic baggie containing meth. Zehner II said it was the only meth he had and he had no more. He told the deputy that the last time he smoked meth was approximately 12 hours prior, the complaint said.
