Community members can eat together this Christmas Day
‘Tis the season of togetherness. Such holiday spirit will be bountiful at the Community Christmas Dinner at Prairie du Chien High School on Monday, Dec. 25. Dine in at noon, pick up carryouts between 1 and 2 p.m., or deliveries will be available throughout Prairie du Chien until 2 p.m. as well.
A traditional Christmas dinner will be served, including turkey and ham, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, squash, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and dessert. The meal is available to all, free of charge, and is furnished by community donations and volunteers.
Deliveries must be ordered in advance by calling 326-8321. Reservations for those eating in as well as those taking carryouts are appreciated by calling the same number.
Due to the construction at the high school, community members are asked to enter through the back parking lot, door H.
The Community Christmas Dinner is open to all families and individuals, regardless of need and is intended to offer a good meal and fellowship for the holidays. Come alone or with family and friends to enjoy the festive gathering.
For more information, to volunteer or make a donation, call 326-8321, (608) 306-6120 or (563) 880-8469.
Come for Supper this week
Additionally in the coming week, the regular Come for Supper meal, held the third Thursday of every month at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien, will take place Thursday, Dec. 21.
This free community dinner provides a nice opportunity once a month for those in need, those looking for companionship or for anyone simply looking for a night off from cooking. Each month, there’s a different menu. December’s will be a comforting spread of Tuscan white bean sausage and kale soup, rolls, fruit salad, desserts and coffee.
