Gavin Steiber lifts a shot to the hoop. He contributed 12 points for River Ridge in its non-conference loss to Lancaster Monday.

The River Ridge boys basketball team had a rough time keeping up with Lancaster, especially for the long haul with a smaller pool of players, in non-conference action Monday, Nov. 27. The Flying Arrows were strong from the field and pretty accurate at the free throw line in their 84-49 victory.

Lancaster connected on 37 field goals, while making seven of 10 from the line. Three players were in double digits; Nate Timmerman led with 19 points.

River Ridge’s Cole Crubel had an outstanding night with 22 points himself, including three 3-pointers. Gavin Steiber also finished in double digits with 12. Ty Bloom ended up with seven, Blake Crubel three, Brett Moravits and Isaac White two apiece and Ryan Redman a free throw.

The Timberwolves’ team effort recorded 18 field goals and nine free throws on 20 attempts.

River Ridge will host Fennimore Thursday night, Nov. 30, in its second game this season.
