Free book for Vietnam veterans

A book concerning the Vietnam War is available to Clayton County Vietnam veterans at no cost.
The book, which contains hundreds of high-quality color photos, can be picked up at the Clayton County Veterans Affairs Office at the County Office Building, 600 Gunder Road N.E., in Elkader. Included in the book are several memoirs written by veterans who served in Vietnam. Veterans who have already received a copy have been favorably impressed with its contents.
The book was funded by the Iowa Veterans License Plate Fund, IPTV (Iowa Public Television), ICVA (Iowa County Veterans Association), Theisen Supply, Casey’s General Stores, Prairie Meadows, DAV (Disabled American Veterans), VVA (Vietnam Veterans of America), Brownwells, Fareway, Wells Fargo and Hy-Vee. Currently, the book is available only to actual boots-on-the-ground veterans who were stationed in that country. For more information, contact Veterans Affairs Director Jean Gage at 563-245-1865.
