John D. Hendrickson, 74, of Prairie du Chien passed away Monday, May 8, at the Gundersen Lutheran Health Center in La Crosse. 

 

He was born May 3, 1943, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Donald and Helen (Miller) Hendrickson. John worked most of his life as an over-the-road truck driver for various companies including; Fleming, Gateway and most recently Walmart. He was a member of the Eagles Club Aerie 1502. 

 

He is survived by his children, Michael (Tina), of Prairie du Chien, Gary, of Sherman, Texas, and Jill (Paul) Elfgren, of Kansas City, Kan.; his brother Steve, of Marshalltown, Iowa; and sister-in-law Mary Hendrickson, of Sherman, Texas; along with his grandchildren Alec and Taylor. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Anthony.

 

A memorial visitation will be Friday, May 12, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien. A private family inurnment will be later. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association.
