McGregor holding Trash Bash
Join your friends and neighbors in giving McGregor a spring cleaning during Trash Bash, held the week leading up to Earth Day, April 22.
Due to the recent closure of the Luster Heights Correctional Facility, the city could use some extra help. Volunteers are needed to pick up litter in McGregor in several areas. Sessions will last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Trash bags will be provided, but please bring your own gloves.
Litter pick-up dates and times include:
•Monday, April 17, noon — Meet at Riverfront Park to pick up litter in Riverfront Park, the adjacent parking lots and the commercial historic district from the riverfront up Main Street.
•Tuesday, April 18, 5:30 p.m. — Meet at Turner Park to pick up litter at Turner Park, in and around the open storm sewer along Turner and Buell Streets and the parks on west Main Street.
•Wednesday, April 19, noon — Meet at the Bluffside Garden to pick up litter in the garden, on Ann Street and in the Artesian Park.
•Thursday, April 20, noon — Meet at the Bluffside Garden to pick up litter on Ash Street and McGregor Heights Road to the top of the hill.
•Friday, April 21, 5:30 p.m. — Meet at the parking lot adjacent to Steve’s Silver Dollar to clean up litter in the parking lot, along Third and B Streets and the Great River Road to the Pikes Peak parking lot.
