She has participated in cheerleading, volleyball, basketball and softball while in high school and has earned multiple varsity letters in each. In addition, she has been active in numerous clubs and organizations, including student council, Hornet Club, math team and the National Honor Society, in which she is currently serving as president. Katie has also served as a class officer over the years and as a PALS mentor for younger students in the district.

Over the years, Katie has given back to her community through volunteerism. As a result, she is a 2017 Silver Cord recipient, having completed 150 hours of community service while in high school.

She has served church dinners, assisted with the youth basketball program, aided the elementary spirit club and helped out with blood drives. She has worked as a cashier and cook at L&M’s BP.

Katie is grateful to her “teachers for preparing [her] for the road ahead and for putting up with [her] on a daily basis. [She] would also like to thank [her] dad, mom, and brother for shaping [her] into the person [she] is today and being great role models.”

Sadie is the daughter of Staci Roth and Aryn Hooker. She plans to attend UW-Stevens Point in the fall to major in family and consumer sciences with a minor in health.

Sadie has been actively involved throughout her high school career while excelling academically. She has achieved academic honors all four years, earning herself an academic letter and four pins.

This year, Sadie was recognized as student of the month. She has served as class treasurer the past few years and, most recently, worked as an office aide, teacher’s aide and student tutor.

During her junior year, Sadie was selected by the Wauzeka-Steuben faculty/staff as their Badger Girl’s State delegate. She has participated in cheerleading, forensics, choir, FFA, Hornet Council, PALS, math team and the National Honor Society. She has also been active in the yearbook, currently serving as an editor.

This past year, Sadie participated in the Wauzeka-Steuben Theatre Department’s production, “A Christmas Carol.”

Plus, she has been very involved in her community by volunteering her time serving as a teen court juror, painting shelters/murals, working at blood/food drives and assisting with local benefits. Outside of school, Sadie has been employed at both Roth Feeder Pig, Inc. and Subway.

Sadie would like to recognize “[her] family for being such good role models and supporting [her] throughout [her] life. [She’d] specifically like to thank [her] mom for being the amazing woman that she is. Also, all of [her] teachers. Mrs. Mitchell for allowing [her] to aide for her and gain job experience, Mr. Dums for always believing in [her], Mrs. Reichmann for pushing [her] boundaries of learning, and Mr. Krahn for being someone [she] can always go to. Without them, [she] wouldn’t have been able to become the person [she] is today.”
