On Monday, March 13, at 7:52 a.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Highway 27, just south of Kendall Lane in the village of Eastman.

Jordan Cipra 19, Eastman, and her passenger, Jamie Crusan, 18, Eastman, were traveling north on Highway 27 in a Ford Expedition. Cipra lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a curve and went off the east side shoulder.

While trying to regain control of the vehicle, Cipra started sliding on Highway 27, which caused the vehicle to cross the center line into the southbound lane.

Brita Prew, 31, Eastman, was traveling south on Highway 27 in a Chevrolet Traverse. The Prew vehicle was unable to avoid striking the Cipra vehicle in the rear passenger side, causing both vehicles to come to rest along the guardrails. The guardrails sustained minor damage from the crash.

Prew sustained injuries and was transported to Crossing Rivers Health for medical evaluation, and was later transported to a La Crosse hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Cipra and Crusan claimed no injuries from the crash. Both vehicles had major damage and were towed from the scene.

Highway 27 was closed for about one hour due to the crash. Cipra was cited for failure to have control and no automobile insurance.

The Eastman Fire and First Responders, Tri State EMS, village of Eastman, Crawford County Highway Department and Milo’s Towing and Repair assisted at the scene.
