On Monday, March 6, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics related search warrant at 51153 County Highway B in the township of Utica. The search warrant was the result of a narcotics investigation which spanned nearly six months dating back to September 2016.

Through the course of the investigation, law enforcement discovered the renters of the residence Kayla Odegard, 28, and Samuel Clark, 33, were involved in the illegal sale and distribution of marijuana, prescription medication, and methamphetamine.

Items found and seized during the search warrant were prescription medication, marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia, methamphetamine paraphernalia, and items associated with the distribution of narcotics.

Clark and Odegard were home along with their four children, ages 3, 6, 9, and 11, at the time of the search warrant. Odegard and Clark were subsequently arrested in connection with this investigation.

Odegard is being held in the Crawford County Jail on a cash bond of $1,000. Possible charges have been referred to the District Attorney’s Office. Clark is also being held in the Crawford County Jail on a cash bond of $1,000.

The children were taken into custody by Crawford County Human Services and later placed with family.

Assisting at the scene were the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, Prairie du Chien Police Department, Vernon County Hazmat Response Unit, Soldiers Grove Fire Department, North Crawford Rescue, Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigations, and the Wisconsin DNR.
