Six-month investigation leads to meth, marijuana bust in Prairie du Chien
On Friday, March 10, at approximately 7 p.m., the Prairie du Chien Police Department conducted a search warrant at 1119 S. 11th St. in the city of Prairie du Chien, based on a narcotics investigation which spanned nearly six months dating back to October 2016.
The residence belongs to a Steven Mahlstedt, 36, and Jessica Mahlstedt, 34. Items found and seized during the search warrant were marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia, methamphetamine, methamphetamine paraphernalia and items associated with the distribution of narcotics.
As a result of the search warrant, Steven Mahlstedt was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, delivery of marijuana, possession with the intent to deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jessica Mahlstedt was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession with the intent to deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were transported and booked into the Crawford County Jail.
Assisting at the scene were the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Crawford County Human Services and the combined Prairie du Chien/Crawford County Tactical Team.
The case remains under investigation and additional charges may be added through the Crawford County District Attorney’s Office.
