Anna Marie Martin, 80, of Wauzeka, passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Crossing Rivers Health Care Center in Prairie du Chien. 

 

She was born Nov. 17, 1936, in Wauzeka, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Konichek) Mezera. She married Floyd “Pood” Martin on Oct. 29, 1955. Together they farmed near Wauzeka for many years. Pood preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1986. Anna Marie worked at Advance Transformer in Boscobel for 17 years until her retirement. She loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren, playing cards and going out to lunch with her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time at her winter home in Sebring, Fla., with her dear friend James Reising, who recently preceded her in death. 

 

She is survived by her children, Marcia (Shane) Hubanks, of Prairie du Chien, Kathy (Steven) Oswald, of Wauzeka, and Jody (Inga) Martin, of Prairie du Chien; her brother George Mezera, of Prairie du Chien; nine grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter Joanne; her brothers, Frank, Clem, Ed, and Raymond; along with her sisters, Albena Payne, Ethel Pippenger and Mildred Andrzejewski.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 3, at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Wauzeka, Rev. Victor Feltes officiating, with burial in the Boscobel Cemetery in Boscobel. Friends may call on Thursday, March 2, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien and at the Sacred Heart Church Hall on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
