Mary M. Berger, 94, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, at the Crossing Rivers Health Care Center. 

 

She was born March 31, 1922, in Glen Haven, WI the daughter of Albert and Kathryn (Vogt) Richter. She married Charles Berger on March 30, 1940. He later preceded her in death after 64 years of marriage on Oct. 10, 2004. 

 

She is survived by her sons, William (Margaret) Berger, of Aurora, Ill., Ronald Picco and Timothy Berger, both of Rio Rancho, N.M., James Berger, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; her daughters, Darlene Fischer, of Santa Fe, N.M., and Debra Berger, of Batavia, Ill.; son-in-law Wayne Olson, of Hinckley, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her children Dianna Olson and Garry Berger; a brother Celestine Richter; and her sisters, Florence Hill, Nellie and Dorothy Richter, Sabina Strnad, Alberta Bradley and Ann Waller.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. James Weighner officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of departure for the church at the Garrity in Prairie du Chien.
