Russel D. Riggs, 54, of Steuben, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse.

 

He was born on Aug. 16, 1962, in Boscobel. The son of Ronald and Sharon (Jones) Riggs. He married Jill Blacconiere on Sept. 6, 2001, in Crawford County.

 

 He is survived by his wife Jill Riggs, of Steuben; his children Russell Riggs, of Boscobel, Trevor Riggs, of Steuben, Tammy (Jeremy) McCracken, of Ferryville, Phillip Blacconiere, of Vancouver, Wash., Michael Blacconiere, of Boscobel, Julie (Ricky) Bryant, of Steuben, Kayla (John) Capelle, of Boscobel, Travis Wilkinson, of Richland Center, Teena Riggs of Onalaska; his mother Sharon (Gene) Poore, of Hiddenite, N.C.; his father Ronald (Mary) Riggs, of Mt. Zion; eight grandchildren; one brother Shan Riggs, of Boscobel; two sisters Marceia (Stoney) Lawson, of Boscobel, Connie (Dale) McCullick, of Seneca.

 

He was preceded in death by two sisters Lori Riggs and Rhonda Riggs. 

 

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday Jan. 22, at 4 p.m., at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Pastor Charles Koester officiating. Burial at a later date in the Boydtown Cemetery rural Boscobel. Friends may call on Sunday Jan. 22, from noon, until the time of service at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Military honors will be accorded by the Blake-Semrad American Legion Post #134 and the Gilbertson-Pitzer- Radley VFW Post #10393 both of Boscobel.
