Bradley Kaufman passed Jan. 10, in his home of natural causes.

Bradley Stephen Kaufman was born June 25, 1948, to Bernard and Sylvia (Fralick) in Prairie du Chien. He enjoyed his youth along the riverbanks of the Wisconsin River in Bridgeport, and graduated from Prairie du Chien High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison before beginning his decades-long career as a Gemologist, and traveled the country as a salesman to retail jewelers. Later in life, he was the owner of Beck’s Studio in Decatur, Ill.

He married Timarah “Timi” Hall on April 18, 1987, in the General Baptist Church. He co-founded the Moweaqua,Ill., Children’s Toy Depot with her, and served many in this way for over 20 years. With help of the community, he truly was “Santa’s Helper.”

He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, and continued to be a “cheesehead” his entire life. He attended the General Baptist and First Baptist Churches of Moweaqua, was a proud member of the Sons of The American Legion Post 105 in Decatur and was a talented writer and storyteller.

He is survived by Timi; daughter Natalie Kaufman (Eric), of California; son John “Jack” Kaufman (fiancée Shelby), of Moweaqua; daughter Kathryn “Kate” Kaufman (Walter), of Texas; daughter Catherine Evans (Monte), of Moweaqua; grandchildren Dylan, Kalen, and Randi; father-in-law Bill Hall; stepmother Mary Jane Kaufman; sisters Judy Ziese (Erv) and Michelle “Shelly” Trautsch (Brian); brother Phillip Kaufman (Linsey); nieces Rachel, Nicole, and Emily; and nephews Ian and Cooper (who is also his Godchild).

He was preceded in death by his loving parents and infant brother Raymond, as well as his mother-in-law, Randy Hall.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, also in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua has been entrusted with the care and service arrangements. Condolences for the family may be left at www.seitzfh.com.
