LaVonne M. Cathman, 87, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the Atrium Care Center in Lancaster. 

 

She was born Oct. 16, 1929, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of John and Sarah (Hamil) Tischhauser. She married John Cathman on Dec. 26, 1947, in Patch Grove. Together they operated the family farm near Patch Grove. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1994. LaVonne enjoyed spending time with her family and playing cards. 

 

She is survived by her sons, John, of Bagley, Richard (Linda), of Dubuque, and Thomas (Kim), of Fennimore; her brother Dale Tischhauser of Dallas, Texas; her sister Ruth Finn, of Patch Grove; her grandchildren, Ryan and Christina along with her great grandchildren, Braedon and Sebastian. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother Nora; a daughter-in-law Diane Cathman; and her brother-in-law Lawrence Finn.

 

Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 19, at 11:30 a.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
