Clifford G. Jahnke, age 84, died on Monday morning Oct. 3, at his residence in Fennimore. 

Clifford was born on July 26, 1932, in Lancaster, the son of Milan and Velma (Wenzel) Jahnke. He married Ruby Braudt on August 12, 1956, at the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. 

Clifford raised beef cattle outside of Fennimore for 25 years in addition to working for Rockwool Insulation in Lancaster. He and Ruby moved into Fennimore in 1981, and built their current home in 2002. Clifford worked as a custodian at Fennimore schools for 10 years, retiring in 1995. He then worked at the Cobb Canning Factory during the summer months and at the Boscobel Nursery. Clifford enjoyed spending time in the outdoors camping, hunting, fishing and traveling the rustic roads of Wisconsin. 

Clifford is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Ruby Jahnke, of Fennimore; two daughters, Lela (Dennis) Boettcher, of Sheboygan Falls, and Della Jahnke (Tim Socha), of Sheboygan Falls; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and brother Gary (Silvia) Jahnke, of Lancaster. 

Clifford was preceded death by his parents, a daughter Rosella “Rosie” Jahnke on Sept. 20, 2005, son Duane Jahnke on Aug. 28, 2012, and grandson Joshua Warpinski.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon Oct. 8, at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in St Paul’s Liberty Ridge Church Cemetery in Liberty Township in Grant County. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday Oct. 7, at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from noon until time of service at the funeral home on Saturday. In lieu of plants and flowers, a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Clifford Jahnke and online condolences may be made at www.larsonfuneralhomes.com
