Residents, businesses, stakeholders asked to take short survey

By Correne Martin

Prairie du Chien started a community branding project in June to help develop and craft a consistent grouping of creative taglines, messages and graphics for the city. Together, PdC Main Street, the city, the chamber and the tourism council are gathering input from businesses, residents and other stakeholders who are passionate about the area.

To do so, these organizations would appreciate public input on what makes Prairie du Chien unique. People are asked to take a short online survey, hosted on Survey Monkey, at the following URL: www.surveymonkey.com/r/CV5QCHX. Responses will be kept confidential. The deadline to complete a survey is Wednesday, Sept. 7.

“It should only take someone about 10 minutes. It’s seven questions,” explained MJ Thornburg, a PdC Main Street board member who has worked in marketing for 25 years with Fortune 50 companies, technology companies and small businesses.

PdC Main Street initially hosted a brainstorming session June 29 to kick off the community branding project.

“After that day, we decided we wanted to cast a bigger net,” Thornburg said. “That first session was more qualitative. This is more quantitative. This is people’s chance to give their opinions and to help us continue to brand Prairie du Chien.”

Next, PdC Main Street will look at the information received from the survey. Then, Thornburg will aggregate the input into some real, common themes, from which the organizations will select in moving forward and making even more of a name for Prairie du Chien.
