Rock and Roll Reunion a one-day collaboration of regional musicians In 2010, a group of 20-plus retired musicians from southwest Wisconsin got together to perform for one day in memory or fellow musician Dale Kidd of Madison. The first Rock and Roll Reunion was held at the Hickory Grove Golf Course in Fennimore and proceeds went to Outreach For World Hope, a nonprofit group helping to feed starving children.

The event was not only successful but a lot of fun for area musicians, so the group vowed to hold the reunion every two years and donate to additional causes as well. The second reunion was held also at Hickory Grove in 2012 and, in 2014, the event moved to Woodman.

This year, the Rock and Roll Reunion will again be held in Woodman on Saturday, Aug. 6. There is no cover charge for the event.

The event will benefit the Wauzeka Area Veterans Memorial, which will have representatives serving food at the event. Also, the Woodman Village Park will benefit from event T-shirts sold that day.

Live Music USA will give out lifetime achievement awards to some area musicians. There will be nearly 30 musicians representing a dozen or so groups from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s attending. The event will begin around 10:30 a.m. and continue until early evening. Food and soft drinks will be served on the grounds and spectators are welcome to bring their own beverages and lawn chairs for the day.

Additional information about the event can be obtained by calling (608) 988-7446 or by following the event on Facebook.

North Crawford High School will hold its Class of 1971 reunion at this year’s event, and members of Wauzeka’s class of ‘71 will attend as well.

The slogan for this year’s event is: It’s not Woodstock, It’s WoodmanStock.
