Jeanette Ruth Curry, 75, died Sunday, July 24, at Bethel Home and Services in Viroqua.

She was born on Dec. 9, 1940 in Monroe, to Raymond and Hulda (Jaggi) Hefty. Jeanette was united in marriage on May 1, 1970 in Lodi, to Donald Eugene Curry. They were married for 46 years. Most of those years Jeanette worked on assembly lines and as a machine operator for various manufacturing companies including Graber & Co. Inc. in Middleton, Fiskars in Sauk City and finally retiring from Mini Precission Componants in Prairie du Chien. Jeanette always had a pet dog—a schnauzer, Buttons, a lab, Lightning and a collie, Chief—to name a few.

Jeanette’s joy was not in working however, it was spending time in the outdoors. She loved being outside. A Packers and Brewers sports fanatic, she loved sporting events. She loved fishing, hunting and spending time camping with family and friends. She would spend hours playing Euchre or poker with anyone willing to part with a few dollars. She truly was a master at garage-saling and going to auctions where she could show her keen eye for the antiques. She was Swiss thru and thru and very proud of that heritage, too.

Jeanette is survived today by her husband Don; two sisters, Shirley (the late Jack) Williams of Fritch Texas and Sharon (Neal) Keyser of Friendship, Wis.; a sister-in-law Mary Hefty of Madison; a brother-in-law Palmer Gehin of Belleville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Delores Gehin; a brother Richard Hefty; a brother-in-law Jack Williams; a nephew Rickey Williams and a niece JoLynn Schilling.

A memorial Celebration of Life for Jeanette will be Friday, July 29, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home at 325 Sunset Ridge and route 131 in Gays Mills. Family and friends welcome.

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred.

On-line condolences may be left at www.vossfh.com. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Gays Mills is serving the family.
