Mary Lou McGuire
Mary Lou McGuire, 85, of Machesney Park, Ill., passed away Wednesday, June 8.
Mary Lou was born March 10, 1931, in McGregor, the daughter of Severin and Eda (Heilman) Johnson. She graduated from McGregor high school. She married William V. McGuire on Sept. 17, 1949, in McGregor. She employed by Union Hall, Rockford Saw and LaFontaines Vending. She was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church and a member of Loves Park Ladies VFW Auxiliary. She was a SAVE volunteer at Parker Center and was a tutor at Rock Cut Elementary School. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, planning events, spending time with her grandchildren and organizing and participating in the annual Christmas Cookie Bake.
Survivors include her children, Mike (Barbara) McGuire, Olive (John) Ellis, Mark (Cindy) McGuire, Mario McGuire, Nancy (Danny) Richards and William (Beth) McGuire; daughter-in-law, Betty McGuire; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Severna Cowell of McGregor; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; sons, Monty and Milton; daughter, Marcia; granddaughter, Jessica; and grandson, Allen. The family wishes to thank Northern Illinois Hospice for their loving care.
Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 13, in Christ Lutheran Church, 425 Riverside Blvd., Belvidere, Ill. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 12, in the church. Arrangements were made by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., Loves Park, Ill.
