hosts Platteville

The Lady Hawks soccer team took on the Hillmen of Platteville Tuesday night, May 10 at Bluff View.

Platteville started the game strong and made Prairie work hard to regain control the ball as they spread the field. The Hawks hustled the entire game but the more experienced Hillmen had some strong drives toward Prairie’s goal. Tajah Eades was in goal for Prairie and had 5 saves in the first half and 12 in the second.

At halftime, Platteville led 5-0.

In the second half, Prairie was able to hold them off a little more with a strong half by Eades and great defensive play by the entire back line.

In the midfield, Caitlin Waller did a great job on the outside driving the ball forward and helping out defensively when needed. Other standout games for the midfield were played by Brytta Sagedahl and Jesse Gutknecht. Gutknecht played very strong and continuously put pressure on the other team. Taylor Hendrickson led the team offensively with a few beautiful runs downfield.

Prairie returns to play at home on Thursday, May 12 against River Valley at 5 p.m. It will also be Parents’ Night.
