Valedictorian Austin Morrow and Salutatorian Bo Kluesner

River Ridge High School has announced that Austin Morrow is the valedictorian and Bo Kluesner is the salutatorian for the Class of 2016.

Austin is the son of Joe and Jody Morrow, of Mt Hope. Austin is an active member of his school and community. He is involved in Future Business Leaders of America, National Honors Society, science club, Spanish club, Friends Helping Friends, choir and student council. He also has participated in Missoula Children’s Theatre for two years and assisted in fundraising for post prom.

Throughout his high school career, Austin has taken two AP courses, including AP history and AP literature.

Aside from his regular classes, the class that has had the most impact on Austin was choir. He believes choir taught him things that he would never be able to learn in an ordinary class: confidence, leadership and creativity. In his free time, Austin likes to draw, take photos and listen to music.

Austin will attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the fall to double major in fashion design and marketing. He hopes that his passion for creativity and innovation will help him succeed in the fashion industry.

His advice to underclassmen is this: Never let yourself start to slip and stop caring because your future self will look back on that and wonder, “Why did I do that to myself?” Always live to impress your future self.

Bo is the son of Tony and Brenda Kluesner, of Bloomington.

He has been quite involved academically and athletically while in high school. He was a DAR Good Citizenship recipient, achieved high honors every quarter and was involved in FFA, forensics, Friends Helping Friends and Wellness Club. He wrestled for three years and earned the Coaches Award in that sport. He participated in track for two years and received the Rookie of the Year and the Guts Awards. He played baseball his senior year also.

FFA has been a large part of Bo’s high school career. Through the organization, he was a member of the national meat judging team, state dairy products judging team and state poultry judging team. In addition, he served at sentinel of the River Ridge FFA Chapter for the 2014-2015 school year and is currently the vice president.

Bo has worked at Economy Feed Mill in Bloomington full-time during the summers and part-time during the school year. He also helps various farmers in the area with jobs such as feeding cattle, fencing and making hay.

He has also been involved with the community, serving as the 2015 Blake’s Prairie Jr. Fair king and as a Wyalusing camp counselor.

His advice to underclassmen can be taken from the following phrase: Until you become the lead cow, your view never changes.

Bo’s two older brothers have been a huge inspiration to him. He intends to attend classes at Southwest Tech in the fall and major in electro-mechanical technology.
