Renee Jean (Horstman) Hampton, 52, Prairie du Chien, died Friday, March 25, at Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse from injuries received in an automobile accident. 

Renee was born June 27, 1963 to Donald Horstman and Mary (Koch) Horstman in Fort Benning, Ga. Renee attended Guttenberg High School. Renee married William (Bill) Hampton on June 27, 2003. Renee had one son from a previous marriage, Philip Reed.

Renee worked many years at Prairie Industries. She loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors, the Milwaukee Brewers and the Dallas Cowboys. She also loved spending time with family and friends as well as her dog, Charlie and cat, Gizmo.

Renee is survived by her son, Philip (Maddy) Reed of Prairie du Chien; her husband William Hampton; four stepchildren, Deb Cummins of Lancster, Dustin Hampton of Prairie du Chien, Darcie (Corey) Pope of Cobb, and Darin Hampton of Prairie du Chien; three sisters  Brenda (Brett) Lessard of Waterville, Robin Barrett (Loren Corbeil) of Stoddard and Christal Horstman of Marquette; father and mother-in-law Lee and Rosemary Hampton of Bloomington; three grandchildren Blake,
Cloie and Nolan Reed; six step grandchildren Brook, Kayla and Cody Cummins, Tenton Hampton, Cade Poppe and Caron Poppe; ten nieces and nephews and thirteen great nieces and nephews.

Renee was preceeded in death by her parents Donald and Mary Horstman, and step-father Elno Horstman.

A prayer service for Renee will be held at St. Feriole Island in Prairie du Chien on April 9, at 1 p.m. All family and friends are welcome to join in remembering Renee.
