Roger Eugene Yanna
Roger Eugene Yanna, 81, of Prairie du Chien passed away Thursday, March 31, at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.
He was born June 27, 1934 in Livingston, the son of Henry and Alice (Gundlach) Yanna. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He married Virginia Ginny Robinson on July 20, 1957 in Lancaster. She preceded him in death on Nov. 20, 2006. Roger retired in 1991 after 34 years as a district sales manager for Gail Company. In his retirement he enjoyed gardening, visiting with friends and cooking. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan and a Harley Davidson enthusiast. Roger had a natural mechanical aptitude to re-make existing objects to perform better than they were originally designed.
He is survived by his sons, Donald of Prairie du Chien, Kenneth of Swisher, Iowa and Steven of Portage; his sister Marquita Marcopoli of Cleveland, Ohio along with his grandchildren Jessica and Bryan Yanna. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, April 4, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien. Military honors will be accorded by the Prairie du Chien Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Rock Church Cemetery in Livingston.
