Bobbie J. Ostrander, 87, of Eastman passed away Thursday, March 24, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Iowa.

He was born July 15, 1928 in Lynxville, the son of John and Estella (Huard) Ostrander. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Carolyn Bailey on Oct. 1, 1955 in Prairie du Chien. Bobbie worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 58 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Fisher- Lechnir- Wall Post 252 of Eastman. In his spare time Bobbie loved to fish. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn of Manchester; sons, Gerald (Jan) of Prairie du Chien and Kevin (Tina) of Manchester; his daughter Kelly (Brian Owens) of Lynxville; his sisters, Linda (Fritz) Bradley of Prairie du Chien and Shirley (Lester) Faulkner of Boscobel; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Virgil (Ivaleen) and LaValle Ostrander along with his sister Zola (Don) Becwar.

A memorial service will be Thursday, March 31, at 11 a.m. at the Faith Evangelical Free Church in Prairie du Chien, Joe Ostrander officiating, with interment in the National Cemetery in Eastman. Military honors will be accorded graveside. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
