Duane Edward Leard of Harvard, Ill. ran full stride and pain free into the waiting arms of our Lord in the early morning of March 3. 

He was born in Prairie du Chien, and was a member of the “Blackhawk” graduating Class of ’51. He married Barbara Rose Zolts of Wonder Lake, Ill. in 1958 and worked as an electronic technician at Admiral Corporation, Sun Electric and Snap-On. Duane was a 48-year member of the Harvard Moose Lodge #1289, a patron of Mooseheart and Moosehaven and a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers. 

Duane is survived by his sister Mary E. Pellock; brother Michael J. Leard; his wife Kathy; sons John, Dennis and Verle; daughters Margaret, Judith and Delores and their spouses; grandchildren and many cherished nieces and nephews. 

Duane will be buried in Calvary cemetery in Prairie du Chien next to his predeceased mother Nellie (Favre) Leard, father Virgil L. Leard and beloved brother John R. (Jackie) Leard and near his predeceased sister Donna Hemmer. A Mass for the family will be celebrated at St. Gabriel’s Church TBD. Ecclesiastes 7:1.
