Freddie Joe Weidenbach, 75, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 2, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL.  Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016, at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Foundation Department of Cardiology, Levitt Center for University Advancement, 1 West Park Road, Iowa City, IA, 52246.

Fred was born on October 29, 1940, in Lake City, SD, the son of Harold and Leona Bruehahn Weidenbach.  He married Margaret “Peggy” Ohda Brown on November 22, 1975, in Rock Island, IL.  He worked in insurance sales.

Fred enjoyed boating, fishing, and golfing.  He especially enjoyed following presidential debates and dabbling in publishing.  Fred was a huge conspiracy theorist.  He had a calling to preach and to educate others on his beliefs.

Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret “Peggy” Weidenbach; children, Jason (Teresa) Weidenbach, Marquette, IA, Troy (Daniel) Weidenbach, Milwaukee, WI, Parris (Karen) Weidenbach, Davenport, IA, and Athena (Jim) Lance, Solon, IA; step children, Jim (Helen) Brown, Rock Falls, IA, Barb (Steve) Wegrzyn, Justice, IL, Mike (Pam) Brown, Sterling, IL, Patrick Brown, Rosco, IL, and Peggie (Kurt) Kennedy, Silvis, IL; mother, Leona Weidenbach; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, David (Patricia) Weidenbach, Salsbury, NC; and sister-in-law, Marianne Weidenbach, Viroqua, WI.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold; brother, Danny Weidenbach; and grandchildren, Kelly Kennedy, Ashley Weidenbach, and Zebulon Weidenbach.
