The Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce Board of Directors elected Prairie du Chien Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Bob Moses to its 53-member board during an annual membership meeting Jan. 29 at The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. The position is a six-year commitment to the state chamber of commerce that came about for Moses since he is also president-elect of the Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives (and will be president in 2018).

This is not only a great opportunity for Moses but it is also expected to open doors for the business community of Prairie du Chien.

“I believe this can really put Prairie du Chien on the map. It draws attention to our city and to this side of the state,” Moses stated. “It puts me in a position to talk with other executives and professionals from across the state about the business and industry climate in our community, which will be a true asset to my chamber members. I look forward to networking and bringing ideas back to Prairie du Chien as well.”

Robert Kamphuis, of Mayville Engineering Co., was elected to serve as chairman of the 3,800-member WMC. Speakers at the meeting included Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald.

According to the WMC, its pro-growth policy agenda is to focus on advancing from the successes over the past five years in the state and continuing to pursue additional reforms that support private sector business investment in Wisconsin.

“I’m amazed at the millions of dollars WMC has invested in candidates who are going to move Wisconsin forward, according to their beliefs,” Moses added.
