Judson Trace William Osterhaus, 8, of Elkader, died Thursday, October 29, 2015, at home in Elkader. He was born in Dubuque, on October 24, 2007, to Heidi (Debes) Aulwes and Mark Osterhaus.

Jud had just started second grade this year at Central Community School in Elkader.

He lived with his great-grandma, Bonnie Syverson; his dad and mom, Mark and Heidi; twin brothers, Jake and Sam, and sister, Maggie.

Jud brought joy to everyone he met—even in his short time with us. He loved watching Scooby Doo and Sponge Bob cartoons, very loud Harley Davidson motorcycles and listening to classical and opera music.  He was a very happy little boy, even with all of the extreme and never ending procedures we asked Jud to be patient with us through.

Judson came from a very large family, Great-Grandma Syverson, Great-Grandma Kruse, Grandpa and Grandma Osterhaus, Grandma Debes and his dad is the oldest of nine.

He was preceded in death by his Great-Grandpa Syverson, Great-Grandpa Kruse and Grandpa Debes.

Mass of Christian was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elkader. Interment was East Side Cemetery in Elkader Friends called after 9 a.m. until mass time at the church on Tuesday.

Leonard Funeral Home & Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left with www.leonardfuneralhomes.com
