Survey questions published in Monday’s Courier Press (Nov. 2)

Though the Prairie du Chien Schools Advisory Task Force Community Meetings have recently concluded, the Prairie du Chien Board of Education still has more information gathering and planning to do.

“To ensure that we capture as many perspectives from the community as possible, the board has decided to create a community survey to get more feedback on the ideas and concerns that were developed during the Advisory Task Force meetings,” said School Board President Christine Panka. The Advisory Task Force consists of a cross section of community members.

Panka said that the Board of Education would like all community members/stakeholders within the Prairie du Chien Area School District to participate. The board feels the survey will be a very important tool to further assist them in gathering specific information about what the community desires for the future education and enrichment of the Prairie du Chien Area School District students.

The survey is completely anonymous and all perspectives regarding education in the community are sincerely appreciated. The online survey can be accessed through the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PdC_Schools.

Since not all community members have online access, the board has made the decision to publish the survey to ensure that they are gathering input from all citizens who want to participate in the survey process. The survey is published on page 6 of the Monday, Nov. 2 edition of the Courier Press.

Paper surveys can be either mailed to FEH Design, 951 Main St., Dubuque, Iowa, 52001 or placed in survey collection boxes located at the Prairie du Chien City Hall, Prairie du Chien Public Library, and Peoples State Bank in the downtown Prairie du Chien, Riverside Square and Eastman locations, as well as at the BA Kennedy Elementary School, Bluff View Intermediate School and Prairie du Chien High School main offices.

“I encourage everyone to take the survey and share your input,” said Panka. “The more people we have participating, the more comprehensive the information we receive to make better decisions for the school district.”

The online survey will remain open until noon on Thursday, Nov. 12 and survey collection boxes will be picked up that afternoon and delivered to the FEH group so that the information can be reviewed and analyzed for the Board of Education.
