Dr. Kari Lund

By Audrey Posten, North Iowa Times

Dr. Kari Lund has brought her comprehensive chiropractic care to Marquette. Her office recently opened downtown, at 129 North St.

A graduate of the Palmer School of Chiropractic, Lund began her career in La Crosse, working for Dr. Linda Lorenz. She started her own practice in Prairie du Chien in 1996.

“I’ve been doing it awhile,” said Lund, who noted her interest in chiropractic began when she was seven and suffered from health issues. A chiropractor offered an alternative to drugs and surgery, helping her overcome her challenges.

“I had a great experience as a kid, and it stuck with me,” she added.

That experience has translated into helping her patients seek optimal health and wellness.

“I do a wide variety of techniques and therapies, and incorporate a lot of different healing modalities than just chiropractic,” Lund said. “It’s not just one size fits all. Every individual is different.”

Lund Family Chiropractic takes a holistic approach to health and wellness, utilizing Contact Reflex Analysis (CRA), which is a simple, non-invasive, natural method of analyzing the body’s structural, nutritional and energy needs.

Lund also offers a safe, state-of-the-art technology called Cold Laser Therapy (CLT), which uses laser light to deliver electrons and photons to the body’s cells, increasing energy. This, in turn, increases cellular metabolism and reduces inflammation.

“I spend a lot of hours researching and studying to keep people from falling through the cracks,” Lund said.

Lund said she’s also working to help those with chronic pain conditions. That involves more comprehensive, life-changing methods, she explained, rather than just palliative care, which relieves pain without dealing with the underlying cause.

“It’s about getting to the root of the problem,” she said.

In addition, Lund Family Chiropractic offers Young Living Essential Oils, as well as nutritional information. Lund said that includes a functional health report, which shows patients how to change the chemistry of their bodies for the better, including changing diet and taking in nutrients the body is lacking.

With the move to Marquette, Lund said she’ll be able to use her license to the fullest extent and include even more therapy offerings. Some goals for the space include offering hot yoga, as well as a healthier version of a tanning bed, which utilizes red light therapy.

Lund said she’s also enjoyed being in Marquette because the city holds a lot of childhood memories for her. She recalled swimming at the Frontier Motel, which is owned by relatives, attending street dances with her cousins, eating at Diamond Joe’s Restaurant and riding her bike across the bridge.

“When I was little, I was over here a lot,” she said. “It’s comfortable for me.”

To celebrate the move, Lund Family Chiropractic will hold a wellness open house at the new office on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. The event will include drawings for healthy products and services.
