Rose A. Kalina, 81, formerly of Madison, passed away Oct. 7 after a battle with cancer. 

She was born on July 26. 1934 in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Raymond and Marie (White) Rodenkirch. Rose was united in marriage to Don Kalina on June 13, 1953. Rose loved to watch her two oldest sons participate in basketball, football and track at Holy Name Seminary in Madison. Don and Rose traveled the country with their two youngest sons where they marched in the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. After retiring, Don and Rose traveled in an RV for nine years and for four of those years worked as “snowbirds” at Walt Disney World, Orlando. She enjoyed volunteering at Cameron Hospital for 6 years. She was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Angola, Ind. Her husband, Don and daughter, Donna, preceded her in death. 

She is survived by her six children Steve (Wendy) of Boise, Idaho, Mark (Michelle) of Howard, David (Peggy) of Waseca, Minn., Bruce (Jackie) of Corinth, Texas, Judy (Michael) of Indianapolis, Ind., and Beth of North Liberty, Iowa; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. 

Funeral Mass with be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Angola, Ind. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. at the church. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cameron Home Health Care and Hospice in Angola, Ind.
